Description

This is the sleek and iconic LEM Piston adjustable height stool by Lapalma with a white vinyl (or possibly leather) seat.

The stools were used for a brief period in an office setting, and they show very minimal wear.

Named Product of the Year at the FX International Interior Design Awards in the year of its release, the LEM Piston Stool (2000) reveals a rigorous and original rethinking of the form and function of seating. The sculptural seat swivels and adjusts easily from counter height to bar height with a lever that activates a gas cylinder. Its visual lightness that creates the illusion of freedom from gravity. LEM is included in the permanent collection at the Victoria and Albert Museum. Made in Italy.

In 1969, man landed on the moon in the LEM (Lunar Excursion Module). In 2000, at the turn of the millennium, the LEM stool was created, one of the symbols of Lapalma’s style. The same lightness, the same absence of gravity, which, in the void created by the design, fosters its relationship with the environment. And like the Apollo 11, it could not bear unnecessary weights, therefore this amazing chair incorporated all functions in a highly elegant minimalist profile. Only the essential, the rest stayed on the ground.
