This is the original 111 Navy Chair in Red, manufacture by Emeco.
The 111 Navy Chair resulted from a collaboration between manufacturer Emeco and the Coca-Cola® Company to find a use for recycled soft drink bottles. Each chair is made from 111 bottles, thus the name.
The form of the 111 Navy Chair (2010) derives directly from the legendary 1006 Navy Chair, which was designed for use on WWII submarines, where durability was vital. A key component of that strength, carried over to the 111, are leg stretchers, which typically are not found on plastic chairs and give the 111 a sturdiness to stand up to frequent use.
Suitable for indoor or outdoor use.
